About the app

It is free and it will take around 10 minutes to complete your declaration using the app.

You can use the app to scan your passport to instantly upload your passport details.

You will receive an email and reference number when you submit your declaration. A confirmation email will also be sent to you any time you resubmit your declaration.

Please note the mobile app is not available:

  • in some international regions, where the NZTD app cannot be downloaded. Travellers can still complete a digital declaration by visiting the Traveller Declaration website from their device
  • for maritime travellers, unless arriving in New Zealand on a cruise ship.
