About the declaration
Everyone travelling to New Zealand by air must complete the New Zealand Traveller Declaration, and receive a Traveller Pass, before they travel. This includes New Zealand citizens and residents, children and infants.
The New Zealand Traveller Declaration collects your travel and COVID-19 health-related information. The New Zealand Government needs this information before you fly to New Zealand, so that you know what you need to do when you arrive.
Once you have completed your New Zealand Traveller Declaration, and provided you have met the requirements, you will receive a Traveller Pass.
It is free to complete the New Zealand Traveller Declaration and get a Traveller Pass, and you can do this up to 28 days before your journey begins, once you have booked your flight.
Some travellers will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination to travel to New Zealand. Make sure you read the information on this website to check what requirements apply to you.
You should not provide false or misleading information – it may result in your Traveller Pass being declined, and a penalty or other enforcement action.
You should always travel with paper or electronic copies of your documents. You may be asked to show them on arrival in New Zealand.
Your airline may also have their own rules, so check with them too.
Check you also have everything else you need before you travel.
